5Encourage Independence
Encourage people with Parkinson’s disease to be independent. It is necessary to let them know what they can do themselves. Do not do all of the tasks for them as this would actually do more harm than good. They may think that they are useless and think negatively, which subsequently worsens the symptoms. Instead, keep an eye on them and allow them to do typical tasks. Only step in when they face some problems or the tasks are so dangerous. Make sure that you ask them before offering help, particularly in the early stages of Parkinson’s disease. [6]
