9Breathing Relaxation
Although this technique is not specially designed for cognitive behavior therapy, it can be traced back to those who practice mindfulness and also very useful. Today, several ways to achieve relaxed and regulated breathing exist such as unguided and guided imagery, YouTube videos, audio recordings, and scripts. The advantage of getting a calm and regular breath is it allows your face your worrisome problem from a place of confidence while helping you make a valid and logical decision.
Breathing techniques are recommended for people dealing with several mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, pain disorder, and OCD. Most importantly, they can be practiced by anyone with or without therapist attention. To try out any of these techniques as mentioned above without the supervision of a therapist, ensure you have the right tools like images audios or videos to guide you through the practice and do not forget to put everything in writing.
