Different from pascimottanasana, the upavishta konasana requires you to open the legs wide to create a slightly different pose. Although it might look like you need to bring the chest to the ground, it is not actually true. Instead, focus on keeping a flat back, keeping the feet flexed, and rotating your pelvis forward rather than crunching forward via the spine.
