6Primary versus Secondary Raynaud’s Disease
Raynaud’s disease can be classified into two main forms:
– Primary Raynaud’s disease: This is the most common type. It is not caused by a related medical issue. In most cases, the symptoms can be so mild to notice. They can resolve themselves without any treatments.
– Secondary Raynaud’s disease: Also known as Raynaud’s phenomenon. It is mostly triggered by an underlying condition. Though this form is less common than the primary type, symptoms tend to be more severe. Symptoms often show up around age 40, which is later than people with primary Raynaud’s disease.
