What is Raynaud’s Disease?

5Diagnosis

The first step to diagnose Raynaud’s disease is to ask for symptoms and medical history. After that, a physical exam is conducted to find out more signs. The doctor might need to draw a blood sample for testing in the lab. The results can indicate any abnormalities in the body caused by the condition. Another option is capillaroscopy. This is a microscopic check of the nail folds around the fingernails to find out whether you have the primary form or secondary form. Blood tests can also suggest whether you test positive for ANA or antinuclear antibodies. The presence of these substances means that you might experience connective tissue or autoimmune disorders, which increase the risk of secondary Raynaud’s disease. [5]
