5Practice Good Sleeping Habits
Setting and practicing good sleep habits or sleep hygiene consistently, would make it easier for people with ulcerative colitis to fall and stay asleep. Some good habits to know include:
– Avoid using electronic devices before the bedtime, such as TVs, smartphones, tablets, computers, or laptops.
– Go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends.
– Avoid having big meals too close to the bedtime.
– Keep the sleeping space dark, cool, and quiet.
– Avoid caffeinated beverages and alcohol before the bedtime.
– Avoid doing exercises too close to the bed time. [7]
