8Progression Timeline of Multiple Sclerosis
The progression of multiple sclerosis can vary from person to person. Symptoms of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis tend to become worse over time with each flare-up. In certain circumstances, they would feel better for a few months or years, while others would feel worse. Without proper treatment, most people with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis tend to develop into secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. At that point, symptoms may become worse gradually and the patients might stop having episodes of remissions and relapses. More advanced stages are rare, but they may cause more serious symptoms, such as a loss of mobility, muscle weakness, and cognitive problems. [8]
