12Cacao
Cacao powder is full of minerals and nutrients. It contains a form of antioxidant called epicatechin, which might help control blood sugar levels. Drinking cacao or eating cacao-containing products like chocolate on a daily basis would help alleviate insulin resistance and slow the development of diabetes. Make sure to choose dark chocolates without added sweeteners or sugar. It is better to check the ingredient list for sugar content. Milk chocolates often contain more sugar than dark chocolates. Patients with diabetes should consume no more than 1 or 2 squares on a daily basis. [12]
