6Take OTC Medication
Some symptoms and signs of carpal tunnel are usually associated with swelling and inflammation which show up in your wrists, thus secondarily irritating the median nerves and blood vessels. Therefore, taking OTC non-steroidal drugs such as naproxen or ibuprofen could be very helpful in alleviating these symptoms, at least temporarily. Also, painkillers, such as Paracetamol or Tylenol, could be used to fight against achy pains of the condition, but they will not impact the swelling or inflammation.
Keep in mind that analgesics and OTC drugs should be only short-term treatments for carpal tunnel condition. Taking them for too long could significantly increase your risks of kidney failure, ulcers, or stomach irritation. [6]
