8Reduce Your Coffee Intake
There are some indications that coffee may weaken the lower esophageal sphincter. A weakened lower esophageal will allow stomach acid to backwash into the esophagus. There are no sufficient research findings to support the claim that coffee weakens the lower esophageal sphincter, but there is little evidence that points to the fact that coffee increases the rate of acid flux attacks. If you suffer from frequent acid flux attacks and you take coffee regularly, it will not hurt you to reduce your intake of coffee; you may notice an improvement in symptoms.[7]
