11Exercise
Considering several studies on the effect of physical activity on the symptoms of constipation showed mixed results. As a matter of fact, several studies have indicated that there’s no link between exercise and the frequency of bowel movement. [11]
However, a recent survey with random constipated people dealing with IBS experienced some tremendous results. They claim that exercise helped attenuate the discomforting symptoms. Other studies also showed the same amazing results for another group of constipated people. [12]
Although there are several studies showing that exercise had a null effect on the frequency of bowel movement, it seems to attenuate other discomforting symptoms. So, if you are struggling with constipation, you may want to try some exercise such as regular walks. After all – you have nothing to lose, as exercise improves your overall health quality.
