11Tightness
Muscle tightness is another possible symptom of ALS. This medical condition can affect the upper motor neurons and lower motor neurons; when ALS affects the upper motor neurons, the muscle tightness and when it concerns the lower motor neurons, it can cause muscle shrinking and degeneration. ALS can affect both the upper and lower motor neurons at the same time, but usually one of these symptoms dominates the other. These symptoms are experienced in later stages of ALS, and in most cases, they are anticipated.
