7Back Pain
Lung cancer can also lead to pain in your back. Along with excessive cough, this is one of the first signs of the condition. It is mainly caused by increased pressure from the tumor on your spine. Also, cancerous cells would trigger irritation in your nerve roots when they spread to your adrenal metastases or spinal bones. When the tumor grows in size, it would sit on top of your kidneys and lead to pain in your lower back. The upper and middle areas can also experience this sensation, depending on the exact location of the tumor. You can feel it while at rest or doing physical activities. It tends to get worse with a deep breath or during the night. [7]
