5Vitamin K2 and Dental Health
Scientists have believed that vitamin K2 would benefit dental health. Nevertheless, no studies on humans have verified this assumption. Based on the role of this mineral in bone metabolism, we may assume that it would affect dental health by activating osteocalcin, the main protein that regulates dental health and bone metabolism. This substance stimulates a process that causes new dentin to grow. This is also known as the calcification of tissue under the teeth enamel. In this process, vitamin K2 are believed to work synergistically with vitamin A and vitamin D. [5]
