5Obesity
Vitamin D is often extracted from your body by your fat cells, which changes its release in the circulation. In people with extra weight or obesity, this process is negatively affected. Extra fat cells reduce the ability of their body to convert vitamin D into the hormonally active form, regardless of your time in the sun or foods you consume. Make sure to check your weight frequently and ensure it is in a healthy range. Also, your body mass index or BMI can be a good indication. Ideally, your BMI should be no more than 30 to avoid obesity or overweight. [5]
