Plan B should be taken orally. It is important to follow all instructions to prevent possible complications. You may take 1 tablet of Plan B without or with food within 3 days after having unprotected sex. If you have vomiting within two hours, it is advisable to take another pill. Make sure to inform your doctor when vaginal bleeding or serious side effects occur after taking the medication. You should visit your healthcare provider within 3 weeks after taking Plan B to make sure the drug is working. Avoid taking Plan B regularly. In breastfeeding women, the medication may slow the production of breast milk. Last but not least, note that Plan B only works for a single time of unprotected sex. If you have sexual intercourses multiple times, take the drug again.  [3]
