To read an audiogram, you should start from the left to the right side of the graph, which indicates lower frequencies. In general, most individuals with hearing loss may hear low-pitched sounds better, meaning that they would have better numbers for these frequencies. Focus on a single ear at a time, particularly when you have different hearing levels in each ear. This makes it easier to interpret the results. Next, look at the lowest frequency, typically 250 Hz, and move the finger up until you see the dot. Look to the left to know the intensity of the corresponding dot, which provides information about the softest sound that you would hear at that level of frequency.
