5Avoid Head Injuries
Head injuries may result in recurrent seizures or a single seizure in those people who do not have epilepsy. The associated seizures would happen for weeks or months after the trauma. Once you have had a seizure after a head injury, the risk of having another one may be two times higher. In addition, a head injury would cause a seizure in those with existing epilepsy. For these reasons, it is very important to protect your head from injuries by wearing a helmet when playing contact sports, riding a motorcycle, staking, or cycling. If necessary, you may do some stability exercises to reduce the risk of falls that lead to head injuries. [5]
