10Alcohol
Alcoholic drinks such as wine or beer would have negative effects on the gastrointestinal and digestive tract. Therefore, consuming these beverages excessively would affect the normal functions of your lower esophageal sphincter, which divides the esophagus and stomach. More importantly, they would increase the amount of acid in the stomach. Both of these issues would worsen the symptoms of gastroparesis and trigger many other digestive problems, such as GERD, acid reflux, or heartburn. Ideally, you should limit your alcohol intake to no more than 1 or 2 portions on a daily basis. If the condition is serious, it is better to quit drinking completely. [10]
