The side effects felt after radiotherapy depends on the region of the body where the radiation was applied. These side effects are usually localized to the area of irradiation. In some cases, nutrition plays a vital role in the healing process. The skin around the location may be dry and tightened, or even sore with an ulcer. Fatigue and tightening of muscles may also be experienced, even at tendons and ligaments.

Other side effects of radiation therapy include lymphedema, sexual dysfunction, and some digestive problems.
