5Interoceptive Exposure
Interoceptive exposure is designed to help treat people struggling with anxiety and panic. It has to do with exposing yourself to the worrisome bodily sensation, and, as such, triggers a response to the compulsive behavior, and elicit any unhealthy thoughts and belief linked with the sensation. Most importantly, maintaining the feeling without avoidance or distraction allows you to uncover and learn new things about the worrisome bodily sensation. This practice is meant to help patients who believe that panic symptoms are dangerous to see that it’s just a fallacy, although it not a very easy method. [5]
