13Caffeinated Drinks
Most caffeinated drinks such as coffee or energy beverages would lead to a gastrocolic response in your body after consuming. This causes dehydration or a loss of fluid, thus making it harder for the stools to pass through. While one or two cups of coffee on a daily basis is normal, consuming too much would lead to severe constipation in many people. To reduce the risk, you should drink an equal amount of water after each cup of coffee or energy drink. For refreshing purposes, it is better to switch to juices or fresh water to prevent the intake of caffeine. [13]
