7Check Your Hormones
A decline in hormone levels is one of the typical cause of bone loss in postmenstrual women. Also, the equivalent of menopause in men, Andropause, can equally result in bone loss in men. Adequate levels of progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone are necessary for proper maintenance of your bone.
The excess level of parathyroid hormone, insulin, and cortisol hormone can result in bone loss. Most doctors fail to check hormonal levels. An increased level of calcium in the serum shows that there might be an excess level of parathyroid hormone in the body. This elevated insulin levels may be as a result of too many starches and refined sugars in your diet. Also, excess stress lead to high levels of cortisol. [8]
