9Monitor Your Moods and Symptoms
Ensuring you stay healthy and active requires you to pay close attention to what triggers the way feel. It may not be easy to stop the mood swing, but you could pay attention to the subtle changes in your sleeping pattern, mood, thoughts and energy levels. This helps ensures you understand what triggers the mood swings and may be able to avoid the little episode transforming into a full-blown depressive or manic episode.
Recognizing the triggers gives you a better chance of overcoming an episode of mania or depression. Create a list of early warning signs that often precede your last event of mood swings. Also, while doing this identify outside influences and triggers leading to depression and mania in previous sessions. However, common triggers include stress, an argument with friends and loved ones, financial difficulties, issues at your place of work or school, lack of proper sleep, and seasonal changes.
