Medical practitioners do prescribe medications such as chenodiol (Chenix) and ursodiol (Actigall) to help in dissolving cholesterol gallstones. These treatment methods are not regarded as an ideal first-line approach, as it takes a month even years of religious administration of these drugs for any visible results – dissolved gallstone.
