7Birth Control Pills
The use of birth control pills may lead to hair loss in some women. This problem may occur while taking the medications or several weeks or months after stopping. To reduce the risk, it is better to choose birth control pills with a low androgen index. These may include Ortho-Cyclen, Ortho-Cept, or Desogen. Loestrin and Ovral have a high androgen index and make women more prone to hair loss. Other birth control options that affect your hormonal levels, such as skin patches, and implants, would lead to hair loss as well. Ideally, it is better to go for a non-hormonal method of birth control. [7]
