7Bronchiolitis
Bronchiolitis can be another cause of coughing in babies. This condition is often triggered by RSV or respiratory syncytial virus. At first, this virus only causes a common cold, but it can enter the lungs and lead to more serious symptoms. After typical signs like a runny nose and coughing, your babies might produce wheezing noises. Due to many similarities, it can be difficult to differentiate between asthma and bronchiolitis. However, this health issue is more common in the winter and fall. It can be followed by a loss of appetite and mild fever. In mid cases when breathing is still under control, bronchiolitis can be treated easily at home. Some common home remedies include using a cool-mist humidifier, giving them a lot of rest, and providing sufficient fluids. When the breath exceeds 50 bpm, call the doctor immediately as it is a clear sign of respiratory distress. [7]
