People with sarcoma can have different symptoms, depending on the type and affected area. Soft tissue forms tend to cause no symptoms in the early phases. When cancerous cells grow, you might notice a visible, painless swelling or lump. If this tumor is associated with local muscles, nerves, or tissues, the pain might be present. Some other types can trigger bleeding in the gastrointestinal system, which leads to black or red stools. In bone sarcoma, pain is often the earliest symptom even when the tumor has not grown. This sensation often occurs in the pelvis, leg, or arm. [3]
