5Onychomycosis
Check your fingers and nails for signs of ringworm as well. Fungus and bacteria could spread to these parts of the body and grow, thus causing a condition known as onychomycosis. Some common indications of this infection include brittle nails, yellow or white nails, or thick nails. It could occur to both the toenails and the fingernails, but it is often more common in your toes. In more severe cases, they would lift off of your nail bed. Also, the bacteria would appear on your hands, especially on the back, as ring-shaped, itchy rashes. Many people often mistake them for dry skin cells due to cracking, peeling, and dryness.
