8Koplik’s Spots
A patient suffering from measles may expose Koplik’s spots, which are white lesions found on the buccal mucosa and may be seen a few days before the actual rash expose. The spots are noticeable in the region around the lower, first, and the second molar inside the mouth of the patient. The Koplik’s spots appear like grains of salt placed on a reddish background, which is the first sign that you will realize before the maculopapular rash starts developing. The spots are a different sign of measles, and their diagnosis plays a significant role in containing and spreading of measles at an early stage before the final rapture. Once diagnosed before reaching maximum infectivity, the contact can be isolated, and this helps a lot in controlling the illness. [8]
