6Hormonal Imbalance
Ovarian cysts can be caused by a hormone imbalance in the body. More specifically, when the levels of the hormone estrogen are higher than usual, it can be a major risk factor. Estrogen dominance can be triggered by poor elimination of waste in the kidneys, liver, colon, and lymphatic system. Heavy exercise, prolonged stress, and physical or emotional trauma would lead to increased estrogen. Sometimes, it can also be caused by drugs that help you ovulate. Another possible reason is a diet high in dairy products and meat. Cysts caused by hormonal imbalance are called functional cysts, which often go away themselves without treatment.
