5Substance Abuse
Caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and other substances would be very disruptive for your sleep. Using them for an extended period would lead to many symptoms of narcolepsy. While alcohol would help you sleep quicker, it reduces the quality of your sleep and causes fatigue during the day time. Similarly, you should also stay away from caffeine as it might alter brain waves and block sleep-inducing chemicals from coming to the brain. Make sure not to consume energy drinks, soda, and coffee at least 6 hours before sleeping. [5]
