14Low-Sodium Diet
Sodium or salt in some foods would lead to water retention in the body. This would worsen the existing symptoms of lymphedema and slow down your recovery. Thus, it is recommended to limit your daily sodium intake to no more than 2300 mg. Some foods to avoid include canned foods, bacon, cured meats, ham, salad dressings, pickled foods, frozen entrees; ketchup, soy sauce, boxed meals, or condiments. Always read the labels carefully and avoid those products with high levels of sodium. [14]
