3Cognitive Changes
People with Lewy body dementia would have some unpredictable changes in their cognitive functions, such as wakefulness, alertness, attention, and concentration. These symptoms tend to last during the day and for many consecutive days. More specifically, they would stare into blank space for an extended period without awareness. In addition, these people seem to be lethargic and drowsy, which makes them sleep for many hours even during the day. Their idea flows would be illogical, unclear, and disorganized at times as well. All of those cognitive issues are relatively common in Lewy body dementia. Your doctor would base on these signs to differentiate it from Alzheimer’s. [3]
