12Intravenous Fluids
Intravenous fluid is a medical intervention that replaces any lost fluids in your body during an infection with a sterile needle in the vein. A fluid bottle will connect to this needle through a tube. By providing intravenous fluids for your body, you can be sure that it gets sufficient oxygen and water to maintain all biochemical reactions properly. Also, water would flush out any waste products and toxins accumulated in the kidneys to speed up the recovery process. Another benefit of this method is to prevent dehydration. During an infection, a fever might occur and cause a loss of fluids. In serious cases, this would lead to some fatal complications without intravenous fluids. [12]
