11Diet Changes
Try to avoid beverages and foods in the diet that would trigger symptoms of indigestion. Common triggers include alcohol, caffeinate, carbonated beverages, chocolate, onion, garlic, acidic foods, spicy foods, and greasy or fatty foods. Try to have smaller and more frequent meals rather than two or three large meals during the day. Avoid skipping meals as well because it would affect the operation of your stomach. After a meal, it is advisable to wait at least 2 to 3 hours before lying down. This can help prevent the acid in the stomach from backing up to the esophagus. [11]
