5Dementia
Many studies have found out the link between dementia and a diet high in saturated fat, which may increase the levels of cholesterol. This is also true for causes caused by Alzheimer’s disease. Based on the autopsies of those with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, scientists identified that a considerable number of arteries in the brain are blocked. This is similar to those in the heart known to be triggered by high cholesterol. Nevertheless, some research indicates that taking statins might be effective in preventing dementia or even slowing down the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. [5]
