8Abnormal Proteins
Frontotemporal dementia is mainly triggered when there are some clumps of abnormal protein in your brain cells. They can damage the cells and prevent these parts from working properly. In most cases, the proteins tend to accumulate in the temporal and frontal lobes, which are located around the side and front of your brain. These regions are responsible for controlling behavior, language, and the ability to organize and plan. That is why people with frontotemporal dementia would face many problems with these skills. Some mental issues like Pick’s disease can be the cause of this accumulation. [8]
