7Diagnosis
If pes planus makes it difficult for you to run or walk, then it is advisable to visit a podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon. Some tests are available for diagnosing the issue. The doctor will take a look at the feet arch when you stand on the toes. If there is an arch, then flat feet might be not the problem. Your examiner might also want to look around the ankle for flexion. In case an arch does not exist or when you have trouble flexing the foot, more tests like a foot scan or X-ray can examine the tendons and bones in the feet. [7]
