Scabies is a contagious condition. It could be spread easily in three main ways:
– Extended skin-to-skin contact like holding hands or hugging
– Intimate contact like having sex
– Share personal items such as towels, bedding, or clothing infected with scabies
As scabies is often spread via direct physical contact, it would be passed on to sexual partners, friends, and family members in schools, rehab facilities, nursing homes, or prison. [7]
