ACE or angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors are a form of antihypertensives, which are prescribed to treat hypertension or high blood pressure. Common options include enalapril, captopril, benazepril, trandolapril, perindopril, moexipril, Ramipril, quinapril, lisinopril, and fosinopril. They work by relaxing and opening the blood vessels. This allows blood to flow freely. These medications can be well-tolerated by most people. You often need to take them one time a day, typically in the morning.
