4Drinking or Smoking
Both drinking alcohol and smoking too much would significantly increase the risks of developing cataracts. These activities would cause some medical conditions that are directly associated with this health issue, such as diabetes or obesity. Some studies have proved that smoking tobacco products would double your chances of experiencing cataracts. The longer you smoke, the higher the risks can be. Keep in mind that regular drink with a small amount won’t affect too much, but excessive consumption can be a different story. Ideally, you should stop smoking completely and reduce your intake of alcoholic drinks such as beer or wine to 1 or 2 portions on a daily basis. [4]
