10Hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism happens when the thyroid, a small organ in front of the neck, cannot produce sufficient thyroid hormones. The thyroid plays a key role in supplying energy to many body parts. It also regulates some functions, such as how the heart beats. Without a sufficient amount of thyroid hormones, most natural functions in the body tend to slow down and cause bradycardia. Women tend to be at a higher risk than men. It is more common in older people who are over 60 years old. It is important to get early treatments to return normal functions. [10]
