Keep the affected tendon elevated can help with Achilles tendinitis. Ideally, you should raise it above the chest or heart level. This can reduce blood flow to the inflamed tendon and help alleviate the swelling. Similarly, you can sleep with an elevated foot as well. An alternative is to use a pneumatic cam boot or an ankle brace. These tools can prevent the ankle from bending, thus allowing the tendon to have more time to heal.[10]
