AIDS is a deadly disease triggered by the HIV virus, which attacks the immune system of your body. Also, AIDS can cause many other health conditions, such as toxoplasmosis, that damage your brain neurons and increase the risk of brain atrophy. It might take up to a decade for HIV to progress to AIDS. During this time, your immune system will be worsened gradually with reduced life expectancy and increased risks of viral and bacterial infections.
