6Slurred Speech
This is another possible symptom of ALS. ALS can cause slurred speech in different ways; one of the ways is by weakening the muscles around the jaw and neck when this happens, the jaw becomes weak, and there may be difficulty in speaking; this usually happens when ALS has graduated into a more severe condition. It is also possible to experience slurred speech as an early symptom of ALS; this occurs when there are disruptions to neural transmissions from the spine, making it difficult to coordinate the tongue and lips in the production of speech.
