Due to inflammation, people with Kawasaki disease may have some problems with their throat and mouth. The inside of the throat and mouth may become sore and swollen. Also, the lips would be cracked, dry, or red. The tongue can be swollen, red, and covered with small lumps as well. This is also known as a “strawberry tongue”. These symptoms may be similar to those of a usual cold or fever, making it difficult to diagnose the disease. Consulting your doctor as soon as possible to get the best advice. [7]
