8Rapid Heart Rate
There have been several reports that pancreatitis, especially the chronic one, causes a rapid pulse. We all get to experience a rapid heart rate almost every day. Sometimes when you are scared, angry, anxious, stressed or during an exercise, you find out that your heart is beating faster than usual. In chronic pancreatitis, parts of the pancreas may die and cause body fluid to escape into the abdominal cavity. This decreases blood volume as there is also a drop in blood pressure. When this happens, the heart is unable to pump blood effectively, and the organs become short of oxygen. You then begin to experience a rapid heart rate and shortness of breath. [6]
