This is a common condition in which a person loses interest in food. Loss of appetite is associated with both acute and chronic pancreatitis just that it gets worse in chronic pancreatitis. Not having an interest in food can be as a result of nausea, vomiting, and indigestion. Losing appetite brings on further complications which may prolong your healing. Due to loss of interest in food, your body begins to lack some essential minerals and vitamins which are needed for your body to function correctly and for your immune system to remain active. It can sometimes take several weeks for you to get back your appetite.
