To show other people how powerful or successful they are, people with narcissism tend to name drop. This means that they will make references to some other important or famous people that they know. The main purpose is to show proof or evidence about their achievements. Listen to these referrals, particularly when they try to use them as a way to show off their intelligence or talents. However, this is not the same as citing authorities and backing up their position. Narcissists aren’t interested in offering background for their claims.
